- Course objectives
- The main objective is to provide lectures to students in the area of balancing of Public and Private Interests during regulation of Business Activity. The objective is also to teach about new developments and approaches of regulation of business in Armenia, its economic integration.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- understand and explain the goals of public regulation of business;
- work with information on integration processes in Eurasian Union and Eastern partnership countries;
- make deductions based on acquired knowledge on public and private interests;
- make reasoned decisions about public regulation of business and its goals;
- create the basic approaches for regulation of business in a specific country;
- interpret the approached of public regulation of business and integration processes in Eurasian Union and Eastern partnership countries. - Syllabus
- 1. Public goals of regulation of Business, main state bodies regulating the business activity
- 2. Public and Private interests
- 3. Legal means for stimulation of business activity, regulation of competition
- 4. Regulation of business as an integral part for protection of National Security
- 5. Integration policies of Armenia – European Union and Eurasian Economic Union.
- Literature
- Aricles given to the students during the lecture. - Selected portions of the Armenian legislation, international treaties and cases.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures, discussions, a multimedia presentation
- Assessment methods
- The students will write an essay of one-two pages about the issues that were discussed during the lectures. The students will be given wide opportunities to choose the content of the essay. One month will be given to complete the task.
