- Course objectives
- The specific content and objectives of the course and the resulting requirements for its completion is always based on the individual study plan and its semester content. They are determined according to the principles set by the doctoral board of the relevant program. Unless stated otherwise by this procedure, the subject is usually aimed at defining the research focus of the dissertation, in connection with the search of relevant sources, studying the current state of knowledge in the given area, as well as gradual specification of the dissertation within the research focus and problem areas and questions that will be solved in the dissertation. The aim is to approach the definition of the subject and the aim of the thesis.
- Learning outcomes
- Specific outputs are always based on the individual study plan and its Term content. They are determined according to the principles set by the doctoral board of the relevant program. Unless otherwise specified by this procedure, the outputs typically include:
- defining the “research topic” of the dissertation
- initial search of relevant sources
- progress in studying the current state of knowledge in the field
- getting acquainted with the approaches to the choice of a suitable subject and the aim of the dissertation - Syllabus
- The syllabus is elaborated individually in agreement with the supervisor within the framework of the semester content of the individual study plan. It includes the definition of the research topic of the dissertation, and consequently contains an initial search of relevant sources, a study of the current state of knowledge in the given field, consultations leading to the specification of the dissertation within the selected research topic and definition of specific problem areas and questions that will be solved in the dissertation, consultations aimed at the definition of the subject and the aim of the thesis (clarification, what and what the dissertation will be).

- Literatura je samostatně vyhledána studentem na základě případných doporučení školitele a dalších osob. Odvíjí se od tématu disertační práce. (Literature is independently searched by the student based on possible recommendations of the supervisor).

- The course is completed by a colloquium, in which the fulfillment of the semester content of the individual study plan as well as the requirements specified in the individual study plan itself is evaluated.
