- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to lead the student to independent creative work at the standard level (at least) in the relevant field, and the ability to publish the results in an appropriate format. The aim is especially to develop the ability to select a suitable topic for processing (for a given form of publication), the ability to elaborate this topic on an expert level in a suitable structure, clearly define the subject and goal of the text, formulate conclusions, manage the publication process, including peer review.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will gain experience in the preparation of scientific publications and develop the skills necessary for this, namely the ability to select a suitable topic, the ability to elaborate this topic on a professional level in an appropriate structure, clearly define the subject and goal of the text, formulate conclusions, master the publication process, including the review process. At the same time, the output is also the very progress in the given area, which the student solves in the publication, ie. developing part of the dissertation thesis.
- Syllabus
- The syllabus will be prepared individually after agreement with the supervisor within the individual study plan.
- Literature
- Literatura bude projednána se školitelem ve vazbě na téma publikace (Literature will be discussed with the supervisor in relation to the topic of the publication)
- Teaching methods
- consultation
- Assessment methods
- Consultations at which the final publication will be discussed and assessed to meet the standards set by the doctoral board. Prerequisites and co-requisites The prerequisite for completing the course is to create such a professional text that meets the conditions set by the doctoral board for each category of publications: Category A corresponds to 15 credits, Category B corresponds to 10 credits, Category C corresponds to 5 credits. The student is obliged to create at least one publication of category A or B during his / her study. To complete the course, the text must be published or at least demonstrably accepted for publication. The supervisor decides on the completion of the course in category C. Completion in category B requires the approval of the chairperson of the doctoral board, ie the guarantor of the given study program. Completion of the subject in category A requires the decision of the doctoral board on the proposal of the supervisor. More info: https://is.muni.cz/auth/el/law/podzim2020/DIPUB/index.qwarp Rules for co-authored works: the obligation to publish at least one result in category B or A can only be fulfilled as sole author (i.e. not in co-authorship). For other publications, co-authorship is allowed, and contributions to more than one publication may be added together for credit purposes in the ratio of the respective credit value (15/10/5). E.g. two different 50% shares in two publications in category C = 5 ECTS. One 50% share in category B + 1/3 share in category A = 10 ECTS etc. However, it is of course not possible to reach a higher category through shares on lower categories (i.e. you cannot e.g. "stack" category A or B through the number of co-author shares of category C, or through shares on categories A and C you cannot create B).
