- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to show the mutual relationship between economics and law, to explain basic economic concepts and laws and to introduce the functioning of economic subjects.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students will understand the basic activities of economic entities, understand the data in the financial statements and analyze it in detail, know the basic sources of financing the activities of economic entities, orient themselves in the problems of credit, have insight into the tax system and employment law issues. At the same time, they will be acquainted with the current challenges that economic entities face, especially those arising from the external environment. - Teaching methods
- Teaching will be carried out: 1. frontal teaching method with the personal participation of the student in the faculty building when an initial mandatory consultation will take place including the definition of the issues and systematics, key concepts and institutes, assignment of the course completion. 2. Synchronous form through three continuous mandatory group consultations implemented in MS Teams environment, the following methods will be implemented (to be selected according to the reality): group and cooperative learning, critical thinking, project-based learning, problem solving from practice, brainstorming, emphasis will be placed on providing feedback, not frontal teaching 3. Asynchronous form (individual guided self-study) of the materials provided in the IS information system and/or textbooks (study texts, videos, podcasts, presentations with audio-feed and other interactive materials) 4. Mutual contact and communication between students will be possible at the first consultation held at the faculty and also through the subject team in the MS Teams application.
- Assessment methods
- 1. To be admitted to the examination, it is necessary to prepare a case study on the topic Analysis of financial statements of a selected economic entity. 2. The examination will consist of a written examination and an oral post-examination, while the written examination will include closed and open questions on the topics discussed in the lectures and listed in the textbook Economic Foundations of Law. For the closed questions, there will be three possible answer choices, with only one correct answer. For open-ended questions, brief correct answers will suffice. For each closed question answered correctly, 1 point will be added; no points will be deducted for incorrectly answered questions. 3 points may be awarded for a correctly answered open question. A minimum of 16 points is required to pass the test. The written examination will take 20 minutes. An oral make-up examination will follow on the day of the written examination after the evaluation. The oral examination will only be a supplement to the written examination, so the oral examination can only be taken if the score of the written examination was at least 16.
