Course objectives
At the end of the course student will be oriented in drug classes according to their main therapeutic indications, in pharmacological profiles of therapeutic and adverse effects of particular drugs with an attention paid to common drug-drug interactions. The student will be able to judge pharmacoeconomic analyses for pharmacotherapy used in practice.

  • Přehled farmakologie vegetativního nervového systému, farmakoterapeutické využití, nežádoucí účinky.

  • Farmakoterapie hypertenze. Léky snižující výdej srdeční - beta-blokátory, blokátory alfa-adrenergních funkcí. Léky snižující periferní resistenci - diuretika, vasodilatancia (přímá a nepřímá), inhibitory konvertujícího enzymu angiotenzinu. Kombinování antihypertenziv.

  • Léčba srdečního selhání - digitalis a inotropika Antiarytmika (propafenon, amiodaron, betablokátory a sotalol, i.v. adenosin a verapamil).

  • Farmakoterapie anginy pectoris a hyperlipoproteinémie. Léky u námahové anginy pectoris (nitráty, beta-blokátory, antagonisti kalcia). Léky u nestabilní anginy pectoris. Klasifikace poruch metabolismu lipoproteinů, výběr pacientů pro léčbu hypolipidemiky. Neresorbovatelná a resorbovatelná hypolipidemika. lovastatin.

Teaching methods
According to schedule given students are expected to attend lectures read by habilitated pharmacology teacher.
Assessment methods
In the Final Exam students are asked to type their answers to multiple-choice questions (1 or more correct answers possible) using the computer key-board (time limit is 180 min/student). The test contains 100 questions generated randomly for each single student by the Information System of the Masaryk University (IS MU). One point is granted for each completely correctly answered question. The summary of the score obtained is evaluated as follows: A = 85-100 points; B = 74-84 points; C = 66-73 points; D = 58-65 points; E = 50-57 points; F = 49 and less points. The test is assessed automatically; the responses and the final score and evaluation are recorded by the IS MU.
