Course objectives
The subject is conceived as theoretical. Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the characteristics of the nursing discipline from the beginning of the development to the present form of independent modern scientific discipline, to define basic terminology and nursing theories, to acquaint with the methodology of nursing practice, to define the hierarchy of human needs in the care of individual and population health.
Learning outcomes
Student:
Will use different methods to assess the client in health and disease through selected theories and models taking into account the specific needs of clients and their families in emergency care.
- Will be able to respond to problem situations arising in connection with the practice.
- Briefly describes the historical background of medicine and nursing in the Czech Republic and in the global context.
- With the issue of health and disease.
- Characterizes the global, European and national strategy for health management.
- Explain the concept of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and care.
- Characterizes the new concept of art and its goals.
- Explain the concept of community care.
- Defines the field as a scientific discipline in the context of other disciplines.
- Uses erudite terminology.
- Interprets the organizational systems of nursing - understand and explain the management of quality of care in health care.

  • Nursing as a scientific discipline, definition, development in the Czech Republic and abroad.

  • The philosophy of changes in nursing, the realization of changes, holism as a philosophy of nursing, humanization, the role of the nursing profession, the role of nursing, the role and the role of the nurse and the medical rescuer in modern nursing of the 21st century. Nursing care, its needs, the environment.
  • Basic terminology in nursing, international standard terminology.
  • Nursing care recipient, its needs, environment.
  • Conceptual models and theory of nursing - terminology, key concepts (conceptual framework, theory, model); category of conceptual models; characteristics and structure of basic models and theories, their use and application in nursing practice.
