- At the end of the course students should be able to: - understand the main moral problems of modern society
- Syllabus
- 1. Postmodern pluralism, conflict of cultures in a multicultural society. 2. The ecological crisis in ethics. Anthropocentrism vs. Biocentrism. 3. LOHAS lifestyle. Business Ethics. 4. Women's issues in the contemporary world. Feminism and Ecofeminism ethics of care. 5. Violence, terrorism and their legitimacy. 6. Political Ethics. V. Havel 7. The problem of medical research. Bioethics. 8. Professional Ethics. Teaching ethics. 9. Freedom and human dignity, responsibility (Kant, Rawls, Fromm, Patocka - "live in truth" ...) 10. Human nature. Sense of life, love. 11. The Ethics of Authenticity. Multiculturalism. 12. Conscience and integrity. 13. Legality, legitimacy - looking for stability. The Evil of Banality.
