- Course objectives (in Czech)
- In this class, students will develop their speaking and listening skills, practicing both conversational English and language appropriate for more formal circumstances. We will spend most of our time engaged in discussion, and students will expand their vocabulary and skill using complex structures by actually using the language.

- Nov. 17, first essay due. Dec. 15, second essay due.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Continuous Assessment: Students must earn at least 65 points in order to sit the credit test. There are 100 points possible, divided as follows: 11 for attendence, 39 for class contribution, 20 for essays, and 30 for tests. Attendence is required since it is impossible to make up a missed discussion. Regarding class contribution, students should participate positively in group and class discussions, and not only when called upon, in order to earn points.
