- Course objectives
- Translation seminar is based on close reading and careful translations of the texts prepared in the faculty LMS system.
The students' translations are only then analysed in the seminar and each student presents the solution and discuss the best options during the contact lessons.
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
* to understand the basic of equivalence translations;
* to learn how to deal with basic features of Czech equivalent translations;
* to understand the basic principles of translation theory in practical translations. - Syllabus

- * Contemporary American fiction (still could be discussed and proposals would be appreciated)

The translation seminar is supported by LMS
Credit requirements: All the assignments to be handed in the LMS system.
The contact lessons are based on the practical analysis of student's translations.
The subject is not possible to study on-line. Translation analysis and active participation at the contact lessons are part of the assessment. - Language of instruction
