- Course objectives
- The seminar through intepretation of selected works helps students to learn about the most important pieces of the earliest Czech literature. Students will also learn about the basic secondary literature which will enable them to complete and extend the gained knowledge. Students will further develop their literary-hisorical knowledge and interpretational skills in order to communicate with a literary work more effectively.

- Interpreting texts from the Early Czech Literature

- Teaching methods
- Students will get an insight into literary trends and movements of Czech literature in the period in question, as well as into the specific nature of their poetics. They will be able to identify and analyze the style of outstanding personalities, significant for that particular period. They will creatively use their knowledge gained not only in the classes but also in their individual study of recommended literature which they will be able to discuss regularly with their teacher.
- Assessment methods
- The seminar draws upon the subject Early Czech Literature. To get the credit, students are required to hand in excerpts of 15 books from the list of recommended primary and secondary literature.
