Course objectives
The purpose of this lecture is explaining of some important phenomena of the lexicology: lexicology in the linguistic system, fundamental terminology (word, word meaning, relation between form and meaning). The students win information about onymy, phraseology, geographical and social stratification of the vocabulary, about using the lexicons. On seminary the students train lexical analysis.
Syllabus
  • 1. Lexicology in the linguistic system. 2. Inter-disciplinary lexicology. 3. Lexical semantics (semantic theories, models]. 4. Component analysis. 5. Relation between form and meaning of the word (synonymy, polysey, antonymy]. 6. Development of Czech vocabulary. 7. Tendence in the development of the Czech vocabulary.
