Course objectives
The aim is to deepen knowledge and provide a broader base of theoretical linguistics. The acquired knowledge, students will be based on further language learning. The main task of the course is to acquaint students with the terminology and terms with the essential requirements imposed on scientific work, the way of working with standards and rules for formal editing.
Syllabus
  • 1st Linguistics: the science of human language. Subject of Linguistics (Linguistics), Linguistics in the space of Sciences, the basic linguistic discipline, borderline linguistic discipline, multi-disciplinary linguistics. Russian-Czech terminology continuously in the semester given thematic whole. 2nd Origin and evolution of language. The theory of the origin and evolution of language. Ontogeny and phylogeny of language. 3rd The classification of languages ​​in the world. Typological, genealogical, geographical and sociolinguistic classification, the basic parameters for the resolution language. 4th Language and human society. Language as a social phenomenon. Language community, language as social institutions, norms in human society and language standards, language spoken and written usage, language codification standards. 5th Language and communication. The nature and various forms of communication. Character (character in the definition of Ch S. Peirce, the definition of the character F. Saussure, Peirce's character classification), semiotics ( semantics, pragmatics, language and character of its communicative function). 6th Language and communication. The nature and various forms of communication. Language and thought. Language and speech. The general scheme of linguistic communication, basic language functions by K. Buhler, informative, and cognitive function, emotional function, function Prompt, contacts function, aesthetic function, metalinguistic function, language (verbal, speech) acts. Instead of language in human intellectual activity, universalistic and deterministic approach, Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. 7th Language system and its implementation. De Saussure´s dichotomy of langue - parole, the concept of langage de Saussure, the substance and form in the language of de Saussure, the structuralist approach to systems, structures and inventories, and paradigmatic relations, syntagmatic relations, center and periphery system, the concept of linguistic levels (levels), language as a system of systems, skills and performance at the N Chomsky. 8th Phonetics and phonology, of course. The basic concepts of phonology, prosodic means of language transcription and transliteration. 9th Morphology. Subject morphology (accidence), morphophonemics, morphological semantics, grammatical category, grammatical category of higher-order grammatical category of lower order, category name, category verb. 10th Lexicology. Lexical system of language. Disciplines dealing with vocabulary, ie the lexical system (lexicology, semasiology, onomasiology, etymology, onomastics, phraseology). 11th Syntax (structure). Subject syntax, the basic syntactic units, syntactic relations, ways and means of expression. Definition of a sentence. Syntax. Typology of sentence. 12th Plain Text. The term coherence of the text. Current sentence structure. Termination. 13th Summary.

Teaching methods
Lecture. Theoretical preparation for the exam during the study.
Assessment methods
1) The preparation and submission of essay on an assigned topic. Deadline: the last study week. 2) The written exam has two parts: a) coping with professional Russian-Czech terminology file technical terminology from the beginning of the semester will be available in the Resources IS, b) mastery of A topics that make up the content of the course RJ2BK_USP1 and mastery of B topics (these topics are the content of an elective seminar   Introduction to Russian Studies 1 (RJ2BK_USS1). To come to the second part of exam is needed 60% of correct answers. 70% of correct answers is needed to pass the second part.
