- Course objectives
- Students should understand and use the information about the intervention and counselling in seniors with visual impairment. They should make deductions based on acquired knowledge about the possibilities of activation of these people in praxis.Student defines barriers for people with visual impairment and he/she suggests removing these barriers. Students should know, how to comunicate with people with visual imnpairment and how to accompany the person with visual impairment and provide support for them.

- 1. Visual impairment in adults and seniors.
- 2. The impact of visual impairment on the Quality of Life, psychological implications.
- 3. Diagnostics of visual impairment in adults and seniors.
- 4. Visually impaired adult or senior in family and in the society.
- 5. Low-vision therapy.
- 6. Improvement of compensatory mechanisms and personal strategies for visually impaired adults and seniors.
- 7. Counselling and intervention in visually impaired adults and seniors.
- 8. Special aids for people with visual impairment.
- 9. Specific competences in people with visual impairment - Braille, mobility
- 10. Intervention in deafblind adults and seniors.
