Successful mastery of the Russian language at the 1st year Mgr. studies of Russian language.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic orientation in the translation theory. Emphasis is placed on adequate translation no equivalent vocabulary, sentence steady connection and phraseology units.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - to focus on the basic theory and practice of translation; - in particular, to distinguish the texts in a stylistic way; - choose adequate vocabulary, characteristic phrases and phrases; - learn how to choose artistic means to enhance text; - practically translate texts from commercial Russian; - to translate journalistic and artistic texts, texts of children's literature; - adequate use of lexical means in translation of journalistic and artistic texts from / into the Russian / Czech language.

  • • 1 to 2 Texts for comparison translation Czech - Russian. • 3 to 4 Practical Russian translation - Czech Наши в России. • 5 to 6 Practical Russian translation - Czech Учитель о себе и своей профессии. • 7 to 8 Practical Russian translation - Czech Незнайка (Н. Носов). • 9 to 10 Translation of commercial contracts and its specifics. • 11 to 12 Translation of business correspondence and its specifics.

Teaching methods
Seminar. Students regularly attend lessons - attendance of 80%. 2 absence tolerated. Students regularly compiled homework - translations of texts of different styles.
Assessment methods
Credit is awarded for work in regular seminars and worked out partial translations as instructed by the teacher. The course is supported by electronic support.
