Course objectives
Educational goals of the course are basic instructional knowledge of educational diagnostics with a focus on didactic diagnosis; There are the basic reproductive skills of searching and applying science integrating concepts and methods in science education. The main content of education include concepts such as STEM education, integration and coordination, intersectoral and interdisciplinary relations, integrating scientific concepts etc. Objectives: Trivia: STEM education in contemporary society; development paradigms of science education; intersectoral and interdisciplinary relations in science; integrating scientific concepts; observation and experiment; solving scientific problems; research methods. Skills: analyze, search and apply integrating scientific content (concepts) in science education Attitudes: accept the importance of integrating the role of science in science and STEM education.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- search for and apply basic integrative concepts in natural sciences and science education
- use observation, experimentation, and problem solving in integrated science education
- Accept the importance of integrating the role of science in science and STEM education
Syllabus
  • Syllabus of lectures (after weeks or blocks): 1. The role of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education in contemporary society. 2. Development paradigms of science education. 3. Interdisciplinary and cross-curricular links in science. 4. Integrating scientific concepts; objects and phenomena; quantities and units. 5. Integrating scientific concepts; research methods; laws, principles and theories. 6. Observations and experiments in science and science education. 7. Solving scientific problems (tasks) in science and science education. 8. Research methods in science and science education. 9. Special role of earth sciences and space in science and science education. 10. Special role of science inanimate nature in science and science education. 11. Special role of life sciences and human in science and science education. 12. Special role of border sciences in science and science education. Syllabus of laboratory exercises (after weeks or blocks): The exercises are aimed at developing skills for individual lectures: 1 to 2 Integrating scientific concepts; objects and phenomena; quantities and units. 3. Integrating scientific concepts; research methods; laws, principles and theories. 4 to 5. Observation and experiment in science and science education. 6 to 7. Solving scientific problems (tasks) in science and science education. 8. Research methods in science and science education. 9. Special role of physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology and biology, biophysics, biochemistry and others. Disciplines in science and science education. 10 to 12. Formation of examples of integrated science teaching
