Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the elementary school environment, in which pupils with specific learning disabilities are educated - mainly with the specifics in their education and personal aspects. Students acquire the skills and knowledge of the responsibilities given to the position of the Teacher assistant for pupils with specific learning disabilities. The student will work under the supervision of education specialist and focuses on the methods, strategies and intervention for students with specific learning disabilities.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course the student will be able to desribe the educational system of students with specific learning disabilities; describe the effect of specific learning disabilities on personality development of the individual; describe the support provided to students with specific learning disabilities by school counsellors and cooperation with a multidisciplinary team in the school; propose appropriate support measures relating to the general conditions of education of pupils/students with specific learning disabilities in regular classes; to propose suitable procedures for the remediation of students with specific learning disabilities

  • Continuous teaching practice is aiming on assistant work in given workplace (regular classroom, classroom aimed for students with SLD) under the supervision of choosen teacher.
