Course objectives
The aim is to acquaint students with the knowledge in the area of diagnostics and the realization of therapeutic procedures in selected forms of impaired communication ability, students will become acquainted with the possibilities of working with family, school and other professionals within a comprehensive approach.
Learning outcomes
• The student knows the classification, etiology and symptomatology of selected forms of impaired communication ability;
• is oriented in the diagnostic approaches and methods in selected forms of impaired communication skills;
• knows the therapeutic approaches and the potential of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Syllabus
  • • Fluency speech disorders - stuttering and bloating - etiology, symptomatology, classification; diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, support for people with difficulty in speech fluency.
  • • Speech disorders - rhinolia and palatolalia - etiology, symptomatology, classification; diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, organization of interdisciplinary cooperation.
  • • Specifics of logopedic intervention in children with orofacial cleft, cooperation with parents.
  • • Neurogenic disorders - aphasia - etiology, symptomatology, classification; diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
  • • Specifics of individual and group therapy, cooperation with family members.
  • • Disorders of speech articulation - Dyslalia and dysarthria - etiology, symptomatology, classification; diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
  • • Interdisciplinary cooperation, rehabilitation and other therapeutic approaches.
  • • Symptomatic speech disorders - specifics of diagnostics and therapy of impaired communication skills in people with sensory, mental, physical disabilities.
  • • Alternative and augmentative communication - system characteristics, specifics of selection of suitable communication system.
