- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to strengthen the competences of students in the field of special needs intervention. They will be guide in the strategies to work with basic intervention techniques in individual/group work with at-risk children/with behaviour difficulties/disorders in family, school, institutional enviroment. The emphasis is on the personality of the teacher as a facilitator in the process of rehabilitation.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will know the basic concepts of addictology and epidemiology, types and effects of addictive substances on the organism. Students will know basic types of addictive behavior, causes, symptoms and types of addiction, possibilities of its treatment and prevention. Student will know basic legislation related to addictology. They will be able to enumerate the risky and preventive factors of drug addiction, the possibilities of prevention and treatment. The student will know examples of good and bad preventive strategies and possibilities of preventive action in school and family.

- Inclusive trends in institutional education/Standards of institutional care/individual Context of the intervention 2. The concept of resilience and inclusion in special needs intervention 3. Supportive measures as the methodological framework of intervention – critical access 4. Specific educational needs of the children with EBD/typology of personality of children as a basis of the differentiated approach to intervention Addictology: 1. Drug addiction - definition, classification, career of addict. 2. Influence involved in the development of drug addiction (bio-psycho-social model). 3. Options for the treatment of drug addiction. 4. First aid intoxication addictive substances. 5. The criminal liability and the current legislation in the field of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. 6. Prevention at the level of families, schools and communities. 7. Drug prevention, effective and ineffective activities.
