- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to understand and be able to apply knowledge of the gained field (Education of individuals with combined disabilities) in practice. Furthermore, students will deepen their knowledge from the fields of education of individuals with visual, mental and physical impairment and learn how to connect them with knowledge from other fields such as psychology, sociology and medical disciplines (neurology, physiotherapy, psychiatry, ophthalmology, ENT and phoniatry).

- Outcomes: Students will be taught to use special educational methods (diagnostics and educative) and apply supportive measures in the intervention of individuals with combined disabilities.
- Syllabus
- 1. Therapy in special educational care (occupational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, animal therapy - dog assisted therapy, hippotherapy) 2. Symptomatic speech disorders in children with CP 3. Symptomatic speech disorders - children with mental disabilities 4. Symptomatic speech disorders - children with visual disabilities 5. Communication of people with severe disabilities (general characteristics, non-verbal ways of communicating, other means of communication) 6. Support of communications (orofacial stimulation, tactile stimulation, stimulation in pre-speech level, early word) 7. Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC option, reference articles, images, photographs, pictograms, Makaton, PECS). 8. Stimulation in communication, orofacial stimulation. 9. Diagnostics of school readiness and preparation for school children with special educational needs. 10. Characterization of circuit of people with autism 11. Specifics of education of pupils with autism, institutional education, counseling 12. Complex special educational diagnosis of people with autism 13. Facilitation and implementation of facilitation techniques (Vojta method, Bobath concept, ORT, SRT, ...) 14. Concept of basal stimulation. 15. Snoezelen (content focus, equipment, compensation and stimulatiom aids). 16. Communication of people with visual disabilities (Braille - Czech set of Braille, Braille code, aids for teaching and writing Braille, Braille instruction for children and later blind people, specifics of education for people with multiple disabilities). 17. Characterization of circuit people with mental disabilities in combination with visual disabilities - specifics of education, institutional education 18. Visual disability as part of multiple disabilities (definition and variability of groups affected, etiology, syndromes, prevalence). 19. Specifics of the educational process for students with visual impairments, learning conditions of a resolution of the circuit purblind and sightless 20. The system of education, specifics of education for pupils with visual disability and multiple disabilities. 21. Special educational diagnostics for pupils with visual disability and multiple disabilities (functional eye examination, diagnosis of other senses, psychosocial diagnosis). 22. Method active learning from Lilli Nielsen. 23. Quality of life, specific needs and services for people with disabilities in adulthood and old age. 24. The family of a child with a disability (parents' reactions to disability, disabled´ siblings) 25. Disability as a stressful situation - solving techniques
