- Course objectives
- The objective of the course is to present a basic overview of health education. Students learn about the basic educational documents, the concept of education in the field of health education, and about mandatory procedures in educational institutions (elementary schools, leisure centres, etc.) This content forms the basis of the course, its philosophy, objectives and expected outcomes. An emphasis is placed on the development of the attitudes of students to the course and their educational activity.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the students will:
Be able to interpret the basics of health promotion in the school environment
Have an overview of health education in schools
Have an overview of organizations involved in health promotion and their functioning
Understand various educational concepts in the area of health education
Have knowledge - Syllabus
- Content of seminars: 1. Concept of the health education course in the past and present;
- 2. Educational programmes, Framework education programme for elementary education, standards for elementary education;
- 3. Analysis of educational objectives of health education;
- 4. Educational process, organization of health education in elementary schools;
- 5. National health promotion programmes;
- 6. Health promotion programmes in schools, health promotion programmes as part of school educational programmes;
- 7. - 12. Basic topics of health education (prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, ageing syndrome, socially pathological phenomena, etc.)
- Content of seminars: 1. - 8. Visits to educational centres – focus on family education, health education, health promotion;
- 9. - 10. Evaluation of health education and health promotion in educational institutions as a basis for the study;
- 11. - 12. Presentation of results.
