Course objectives
WHO IS OBLIGED TO REGISTER FOR THE ENTRANCE TEST A2: The compulsory study of a foreign language is part of the following study programmes: "Social Education", "Special Needs Education", "Primary School Teaching Assistant Training" and "Upper Secondary School Teacher Training"). Students can choose between English, German, Spanish, French or Russian.
In semester 1, they register for the Entrance test A2 in one of the languages offered. If they are credited, they may register for "English/German/... for Social/Special Educators A" or "English/German/... for Teachers A" in semester 2, and a follow-up course "B" in semester 3.
In case of poor knowledge, we recommend that students register for the Entrance test A2 only in their third semester.
THE AIM OF THE ENTRANCE TEST A2 is to find out whether the students have achieved at least the minimum required entrance level of knowledge, which is A2.
The follow-up compulsorily-optional foreign language courses at the Faculty of Education are taught at level B1 (Bachelor's degree) and B2 (Master's degree). The courses develop academic and specialist language. B1, resp. B2 level of knowledge of at least one foreign language is one of the key competences of MU university graduates, which gives the study of a foreign language importance equal to that of the main study discipline(s).
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the student will be able to: understand spoken texts at A2 level of the CEFR; understand written texts at A2 level of the CEFR; use general A2 vocabulary with appropriate command and control; show a good command of A2 grammar structures.
