- Course objectives
- The students will learn how to work with transcripts of Don Sparling's themed walks. They will learn the basics of editing oral transcripts and then they will create a digital project based on the walks. This is a one-off course in cooperation with the Brno expat centre and is a unique opportunity to learn about the themed walks created for English speakers. The projects will be available online for English speakers to use.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course students will be familiar with the basics of proofreading a text. They will learn about various options for creating a digital project and will choose the platform they prefer for their own project. They will choose a themed walk and learn how to proofread, upload photos and comments to their digital project, all of which they will be able to use in the future with their own students.
- Syllabus
- The course will happen over 2 Saturdays. The first day will consist of: Introduction to the walks created by Don Sparling Introduction to the digital tools available for creating a project Introduction to the tools available for proofreading Dividing into groups and choosing a walk to work on Working with the oral text created by Don Sparling The second day will consist of: Final preparation of the project Presentation of the projects to the rest of the class Evaluation of the pros and cons of each tool

- This class can only be taken in person. In the course, the use of AI is permitted for learning but not for cheating. It is acceptable to use AI for brainstorming ideas, basic proofreading, and suggestions for improvement. It is unacceptable to have a text generated, translated or reformulated. Remember to acknowledge all innovative ideas that are not yours. For generated ideas, use in-text citations. At the end of each assignment, state how you worked/did not work with AI. When in doubt, consult your teacher.
