Course objectives
The goal of the course is meant to enhance MUNI students’ intercultural communication competence and improve their communication skills in French and in English by exchanging with students from foreign universities through virtual exchanges.
The main goals of the course are:
• to dispel, by working together on common projects, the self-centered perceptions of one’s cultural environments and contexts
• to develop openness and positive attitudes towards other cultures
• to develop plurilinguistic and pluricultural competencies
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, the students:
• will understand key concepts of intercultural communication
• will develop cultural self-awareness and awareness of other cultures
• will be able to recognize and analyze common barriers to effective intercultural communication
• will improve their listening skills and effective communication skills when engaging in discussions and project work with students from other universities

  • Physical meetings in class and online events with students and teachers from foreign universities (University of Cagliari and University of Rennes).
  • Getting acquainted.
  • Time capsule presentations.
  • Intercultural communication and Cross-cultural differences.
  • How do we communicate. Differences in verbal and non verbal communication.
  • Discussion and topics to be shared.

The course is linked to EDUC Vitual Mobility project connecting three universities: Masaryk University (Czech Republic), University of Rennes (France) and University of Cagliari (Italy). The course is taught in English and in French. This course was created with the support of the EDUC project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
