Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of forming musical material. Emphasis is placed especially on forms that had a fundamental impact on the development of music from the Renaissance to Romanticism.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will know the historical development and typology of musical forms. They will be capable of basic music analysis and identification of the most common formal solutions. They will connect the acquired knowledge from this discipline with the basics of music theory and history.

Teaching methods
theoretical preparation, music analysis, exercise, listening to music, home preparation
Assessment methods
Oral exam: verification of acquired theoretical knowledge based on the lectures and homework. Students choose one of the thematic areas (musical forms of a specific period). Furthermore, they have to identify the presented form / form diagram according to the graphics and clues.
