- Course objectives
- After completing this seminar the students should be able to interpret differences in pronunciation between German and Czech vowels and diphthongs and characterize typical pronunciation mistakes made by Czech native speakers.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students should be able to: -to interpret differences in pronunciation between German and Czech vowels and diphthongs; -to characterize typical mistakes in pronunciation made by Czech native speakers; -to understand basic Phonetic Terminology - to read a short German text with emphasis on correct German pronunciation.

- Seminar, pronunciation practice of German vowels and diphthongs. Active participation in class along with consistent home practice.

- Fulfilling requirements; The students are supposed to read a short German text with emphasis on correct German pronunciation- MP3 file, test.

- Students on a study abroad program will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning.
