- Course objectives
- Contemporary Czech Syntax II follows the Contemporary Czech Syntax I.; the analysis of the compound sentence follows the analysis of the sentence. The students shall recognise the types of the compound sentence and write the graphical schemes of them. They should be able to explain relation between sentences in the compound sentence. Classification of the clauses.
- Syllabus
- 1. Criterion for the differentiation between sentence and compound sentence. 2. Sentences connected in the compound sentence. Connectives (word category, syntactical function, meaning). 3. Main clause and dependent clause. 4. Types of the compound sentence. 5. Co-ordination in the compound sentence. Types of the semantic function of the co-ordination, the connective of the co-ordination. Co-ordination of the sentence and clause. 6. Subordination in the compound sentence. 7. Classification of the dependent clauses. Dependent clauses in the valence position of the predicative verb in the main clause. 8. Compound sentence with the most complicated structure. 9. Graphical picture of the compound sentence. 10. Sentence in the text. Sentence as communicative units. Segmentation of the text. Units of the texts.

- Předmět je ukončen ústní zkouškou, která se skládá z části praktické a teoretické. Zkouška zahrnuje látku z předmětu CJ2RC_JSy1 a CJ2RC_JSy2. Předpokladem pro připuštění ke zkoušce je úspěšné zvládnutí písemného test zaměřeného na látku semináře v průběhu semestru. Ústní zkouška zahrnuje látku obsaženou v osnově předmětů CJ2RC_JSy1 a CJ2RC_JSy2.
