Course objectives
The course covers the period from early Saxon literature to the literature of the 20th century. It is focused on the most prominent phenomena such as heroic epic, medieval chivalry romance, Renaissance drama and love poetry, modern novel, romantic and Victorian writing,Modernist writing, Theatre of the Absurd, Angry Young Men, Postmodern and Postcolonial literature.Students are supposed to acquire the basic knowledge of literary works,literary movements and periods as well as the different features of style and language.
