Students must pass the first semester of Practical Language (AJ2BP_PJ1A) before entering this course. - Omezení zápisu do předmětu
- Předmět je určen pouze studentům mateřských oborů.
- Mateřské obory/plány
- Pedagogické asistentství anglického jazyka a literatury pro základní školy (program PdF, B-SPE)
- Cíle předmětu
- Students will develop all four skills, reading, listening, speaking and writing, for better communication. As they are expected to be at an upper-intermediate level, they will work on extending the range and accuracy of the language as well as the register.
They will learn to analyze the language for teaching purposes and will be aware of the fact that they have changed their roles - from being the users of the language into being the source of information about the language and language model providers.
Year One all objectives:
Given a text written for the general public, students will be able to (SWBAT) recognize the most important ideas and produce an oral summary.
Given a range of general topics, SWBAT initiate, maintain, and end discourse naturally with effective turn-taking.
Given a range of general topics, SWBAT write texts that demonstrate a good grasp of writing conventions, including grammatical correctness, and showing a wide range of vocabulary.
Given a range of general topics, SWBAT employ a variety of structures and vocabulary, correct slips and errors that have led to misunderstandings, and use standard phrases to gain time and keep the turn.
Given speech on a general topic in standard language even in a noisy environment, SWBAT demonstrate an understanding of the main ideas.
Given a general topic, SWBAT produce a clear, detailed description/presentation that demonstrates a logical chain of argument.
SWBAT distinguish and apply reading strategies for various types of texts and explain the value of the texts.
When placed in a learning team, SWBAT encourage others, designate roles, and produce a result that fulfills given tasks.
SWBAT plan and carry out concrete and achievable long-term goals for self-improvement in the language.
SWBAT create and continuously update a record of personal language development.
Given a gap in knowledge, SWBAT identify and use appropriate reference material and/or technological resources to fill the gap.
Given a set of criteria, SWBAT critically evaluate their own language skills. - Osnova

- Výukové metody
- Class discussion, individual projects, reading, homework, essays, quizzes, online discussion.
- Metody hodnocení
- Students will have two different teachers for two different sections - each class meeting separately.
The general pass mark for this course is 70%.
Passing the class will be dependent on a continuous assessment of work during the semester. The continuous assessment will be different for each teacher. Students must pass the continuous assessment for each section independently.
The continuous assessment will be based on work done in class with the book Inside Out as well as out-of-class assignments. The book English or Czenglish will also be used in class. There will be quizzes in class that cover both books. Each seminar group will also have an essay and an oral presentation.
Students are also expected to study the book English Grammar In Use in their own time. That will not be tested until the Complex Exam at the end of the semester. - Vyučovací jazyk
