- Course objectives
- At the end of the tuition students will have basis knowledge about valence theory. Students are capable of determining a number of valence completions within particular verbs and they are able to perform characteristics of actants from the point of view of their semantic roles, morph-syntax and denotative features.
- Syllabus
- - the sentence in a comparison with the utterance - sentence patterns according to U. Engel, typology of valence supplements and their combination - functional and denotative features of obligatory supplements - the division of German verbs on the basis of their lexical-semantic characterization - activitis and their classification - processes and their classification - prefixed verbs and their position from the point of valence theory Credit requirements: regular and active participation on seminars
