Course objectives
That subject aims to confirmthe knowledge of the Czech orthography and Czech grammar and to practise them by writing continuous texts.
After finishing of that subject student shall:
(a)master the rules of the Czech orthography and be able to write continuous text without mistakes;
(b) be able to use correct forms of the inflexional words in the sentences;
(c) know printed handbooks of codification and online sources of standard Czech and be able to use them for seeking or verify of the orthographic or grammatic forms
Syllabus
  • 1. Prefixes s/z, letters or groups of letters -ě-/-je-/-ně- inside the words; writing of reduplicate consonants.
  • 2. Capital letters at the beginning of words in multiverbal proper nouns.
  • 3. Correct writing of marks, abbreviations and acronyms.
  • 4. Writing of i/y, í/ý in the terminations of the substantives and adjectives.
  • 5. Writing of numerals or numbers, especially of the composed ones.
  • 6. Writing of the terminations in the perfect participle. Grammatical concordance of the predicate with subject, expecially with muptiple subject.
  • 7. Punctuation in the sentence, in the complex sentence and compound sentences.
  • 8. Writing of the loanwords (appelative or proper nouns).
  • 9. Correct forms ot the substantives. Declination of the loanwords.
  • 10. Declinacion and correct forms of adjectives.
  • 11. Conjugation and correct forms of the verbs.
  • 12. Declination of the numerals and pronouns.
  • 13. Handbooks of codification and how to use them.

Assessment methods
To finish the subject successfully the student shall:
(a)continuously perform the tasks of the seminary and continously work at the seminary;
(b) prove knowledge of the contemporary Czech orthography in the dictation (it shall be 10-15 lines long;
(c)to prove ability of using of correct forms of the inflexional words in the sentence prokázat in the filling excercise. m
