- Course objectives
- Translation Theory Seminar will cover the most influential secondary literature and studies dealing with English translation theories /see bellow/.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand the basic terms of equivalence based on the theory of invisible translation;
- learn more about the essential history of English translations, mostly the translations of Bible;
- analyze the translation texts and apply the theoretical knowledge of textual equivalence;
- understand and analyze the changing style of modern translations and understand the reasons for the need of modern translation theories in the whole linguistic concepts;
Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice via practical tasks. - Syllabus

- Požadavky na zápočet (souhrn):
Odevzdání analýzy do modulu "odevzdávárna v IS" do posledního týdne semestru. Při odevzdání práce mimo tento termín je nutno upozornit vyučujícího mailem. Práce není možno odevzdávat mailem nebo jakoukoliv jinou formou.
PLEASE NOTE! Due to the quarantine in semester Spring 2020, the credit requirements will be fulfilled only by online means. All the tasks will be evaluated online and the feedback will be only provided by mail and further online means in IS MUNI.
