Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarized students with basic principles of the inclusive education. The course topics will be focused on historical perspective on society approach to individuals with health disability and fundamental terminology used in the connection with the education of individuals with special educational needs. Furthermore, the strategies for implementation of the inclusive education in the Czech republic and abroad will be presented. Through the discussion with experts in the field, students have an opportunity to reflect own opinion of the inclusive education and its implementation in the Czech educational system.
Learning outcomes
After the course, student will be able to: characterize the historical discourse in the society approach to individuals with special educational needs; defined fundamental terminology connected with the education of individuals with special educational needs; describe contemporary practice and strategies used for the support of the joint education in the Czech republic and abroad.

  • Historical discourse in the society approach to individuals with special educational needs. Contemporary terminology and strategies in the support of the inclusive school environment. School conditions and multidisciplinary team cooperation. Teacher´s role in the inclusive education. Heterogenous classroom and strategies in within. Cooperation with family. Student and factors affecting his involvement in the heterogenous classroom.
