Course objectives
Students will use this class to practice their English and mainly develop their vocabulary by studying issues such as idioms, proverbs, similes, collocations, etc. Activities will vary from week to week. As students are training to be teachers, they will be expected to take an active role in their own learning, with an eye toward understanding how to share information with their peers, and later their own students. At the end of the course students will be able to understand and explain English idioms, similes, proverbs, etc. They will be able to prepare a vocabulary exercise and present it and teach it to their peers.
Learning outcomes
The students will be able to express themselves in educated manner using more precise topic based vocabulary. The students will confidently use newly acquired wocabulary on selected topics. The students will be able to select appropriate teaching materials for the selected topics. The students will be able to understand and naturally use idiomatic expressions and apply wide range of vocabulary with appropriate collocations. The students will be able to give non-academic presentations in front of a larger audience.

Assessment methods
There will be discussion, pair-work and group-work. Course Requirements: Attendence is mandatory, students may miss 1 class but not more. Other requirements: 1. Active participation in lessons. 2. Preparation for lessons and homework where required. 3. Moodlinka course activities. 4. Mini presentations. At the end of the course there will be a vocabulary test. The passmark for the course is 70%, which is made up of a possible 30 marks for continuous assessment and a possible 70 marks for the test.
