- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
- the students will learn to use basic chemical knowledge in practice
- the students will be able to explain exploitation of chemical compounds and chemical reactions in daily life - Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of this course the student will gain: knowledge of modern methods of chemical analysis and their applications and the processing of chemical data and results using the latest instrumentation, chemometric computational methods and software Skills to use theoretical knowledge to assess the choice of optimal method of chemical analysis of samples and chemometric data processing and analysis results Comprehensive overview of the content of the course (Optical analytical methods, Separation methods, Electrochemical methods, Chemometric methods of chemical data processing and measurement and determination).

- a) - Chosen optical and electrochemical methods
- - Chosen aspects of food chemistry (anti-nutritional, toxic and other bioactive compounds, additives, contaminants, food legislation).
- b) • 1. Historical overview of instrumental methods. • 2. Atomic absorption spectrometry. • 3. Spectrophotometry. • 4. Atomic emission spectrometry, ICP. • 5. Fotoluminiscent methods. • 6. Extraction. • 7. Liquid chromatography. • 8. Gass chromatography. • 9. Potenciometry, conductometry. • 10. Capillary electrophoresis, isotachophoresis. • 11. Mass spectrometry, MALDI-TOF. • 12. Tandem methods. • 13. Chemometry, in the modern chemistry. • 14. Errors, trueness, accuracy, repearability, reproducibility. • 15. Linear regression, detection limit, determination limit. • 16. Simplex method, Monte Carlo method. • 17. Classical multicomponent analysis. • 18. Modern methods of the multicomponent analysis, calibration, prediction. • 19. Multiple linear regression, Principal component regression, PLS, Kalman filter. • 20. Neural networks.
