- Course objectives
- The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of Russian transformations, focusing on the development of morphological and fonetic system. The attention will also be paid to the comparative aspects of Russian and Czech languages.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course student will be able:
- to describe important aspect of Russian language (phonetics, morphology, syntax, lexicology);
- to analyze grammatical phenomena and fonetic structures of contemporary Russian. - Syllabus
- 1. Russian vowels: articulatory characteristics, differences between Russian and Czech vocal system.
- 2. Russian consonants: articulatory characteristics, differences between Russian and Czech consonant system.
- 3. Positional and combinatorial changes in the realization of sounds in continuous speech. Work with dictionaries and textbooks.
- 4. Flexible word types from a comparative point of view (Russian, Czech). Work with corpora and textbooks.
- 5. Inflexible word types from a comparative point of view (Russian, Czech). Work with corpora and textbooks.
- 6. Selected aspects of Russian-Czech interference at the morphological level.
