Course objectives
This course is the extension of Practical Language Exercises 2. Within the course, the thematic areas discussed in the course Practical Language Exercises 2 will be repeated, strengthen and developed. The course is focused primarily on developing and improving the following skills: reading, listening and speaking. Students will be encouraged to work with the mistakes.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will improve productive and receptive skills.

  • 4. World cuisine.
  • 5. Ordering food.
  • 6. Easter.
  • 7. Means of transport. Public transport in Russia.
  • 8. At the station. On the bus and train.
  • 9. Preparation for the trip, departure and arrival.
  • 10. At the airport and on the plane.
  • 11. Telephone and email communication.
  • 12. Revision.

Teaching methods
Seminars. Dialogues, reading comprehension, work with visual and audiovisual materials. Regular preparation for classes, homework assignments and corrections.
Assessment methods
The oral colloquium includes:
- description of the photograph/image and responses to follow-up questions from the instructor,
- free conversation with the teacher on the assigned topics and answers to the assigned questions (topics that have been discussed throughout the semester, the teacher asks follow-up questions on the selected topic after a short monologue by the student, the student also draws a few more follow-up questions and responds to them).
The duration of the oral part is about 15 - 25 minutes.
