- The course offers the survey of glottochronology and others lexicostatistical methods and their using.

- Students acquaint a survey on quantitative methods in comparative linguistics.

- 1.Mathematical methods in linguistics. 2.Sources of glottochronology. 3. Morris Swadesh and glottochronology. 4. Inovations done by Sheila Embleton. 5. Recalibrated glottochronology of Sergei Starostin. 6. Glottochronology in Czech. 7. Practical application of glottochronology. 8. Application of glottochronology on single language families and its evaluation.
