- Course objectives
- The continuation of Developmental Psychology I. The course provides a survey of physical development and development of the various psychic functions, activities, personality components and the personality as a whole during childhood and adolescence. Students will enhance their knowledge of the various ontogenetic stages (life periods, phases of development): the prenatal stage, the newborn stage, the infant stage, early childhood, the pre-school age, the school age, puberty, and the adolescence. For continuation see Developmental psychology III.
- Syllabus
- The topics include physical growth and development, sensorimotor skills, perception, memory processes, imagination, the Piagetian theory of cognitive development, development of the intellect and its components, musical skills, language, motivation and behaviour control, temperament, emotions, social cognition, moral development, play-related behaviour, personality, development of a Self, sex-typing, and development of religious sensitivity.
