Course objectives
The course willdeal mainly with Pavese`s prose in order to identify its basic characteritics. Besides usual problems like Pavese`s neorealism and his inspiration by American literature, our attention will be focused on the function of myth in Pavese`s prose.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Náplň přednášek i seminářů bude tvořit detailní analýza románů (Paesi tuoi, Il diavolo sulle colline, La luna e i falo, atd.), jejíž výsledky budou konfrontovány jak s názory italských literárních kritiků, tak s teoriemi badatelů v oblasti mytologie.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Zápočet: seminární práce. Zkoušku lze konat až po absolvování obou semestrů (písemná práce, četba). Účast na seminářích je povinná.
