- Course objectives
- The lecture should give the basic information in the field of the metaphysics and metaphysical concepts in the course of the Middle Ages, i.e. from the times of the Church Fathers till the Late Scholastic. It is focused to the most important persons of that time (e.g. Augustine, Boethius, Eriugena, Avicenna, Anselm, Averroes, Thomas Aquinas, Duns Scotus etc.) together with the Antique tradition underlying under their conceptions (Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, the Neo-Platonists). The selected topics of the Middle Ages metaphysics will be mostly documented by reading and interpreting of a primary literature.
