- Course objectives
- The main standpoint of the seminar will be formed by reading (singing or listening) and interpretation of spiritual songs from Kancionál český by Václav Matěj Šteyer (its first - sixth edition: 1683 - 1764). The collection of songs will be studied as a "collective work in the static and dynamic sense" (Kalista) and as a "answer ro the questions postulated by our hymnographic horizon of expectations" (Jauss) and we will attempt a new look at tha Baroque Hymnography of the 17th and 18th centuries.
- Syllabus
