- Course objectives
- The focus of this lecture are the various aspects of the acting space of the modern theatre, both in terms of a dramatic space and especially the material theatrical space. Issues in discussion are the typology of the theatrical space, and an interpretation of the development in individual historical eras. The historical approach is an essential starting point for searching connotations in the spatial conceptions of present day theatre buildings, for the analyses of the spatial component of theatre productions, creations and events of various types, as the later 20th century has witnessed them on the Czech and foreign stages (especially of the experimental kinds). Illustrations will be provided.
