- Inici del cicle d'assignatures de llengua catalana, que té una durada de quatre semestres (Llengua catalana I - IV). L'objectiu de l'assignatura es que els estudiants aconsegueixin un nivell bsic de llengua catalana que els permeti comprendre frases i expressions utilitzades habitualment i relacionades amb temes dimportncia immediata (per exemple, informacions personals bsiques, informacions familiars, compres, geografia local, ocupació), que també els permeti de comunicar-se en situacions senzilles i habituals que exigeixin un intercanvi simple i directe dinformació sobre temes familiars i habituals. Pot descriure, de manera senzilla, aspectes de la seva experincia o bagatge personal, aspectes de lentorn immediat i assumptes relacionats amb necessitats immediates. Aquesta assignatura es complementa amb el seminari de conversa I, que es recomana seguir simultaniament. L'assignatura de llengua catalana I treballa els quatre nivells comunicatius fent ús de material multimedia.

- En finalitzar aquest curs l'estudiant hauria de ser capaç de comprendre expressions i el vocabulari més freqüent sobre temes dinterčs personal (per exemple, informació personal i familiar molt bŕsica, compres, lloc de residčncia, ocupació laboral). Entendre la idea principal de missatges i avisos curts, clars i senzills. Llegir textos molt curts i senzills. Puc trobar informació específica i previsible en documents escrits senzills i quotidians com ara anuncis, prospectes, menús i horaris, i puc comprendre cartes personals curtes i senzilles. Comunicar-se en tasques senzilles i habituals que exigeixen un intercanvi senzill i directe dinformació sobre temes i activitats familiars. Mantenir intercanvis socials molt breus encara que, en general, no els entengui prou com per mantenir o dirigir ell mateix una conversa. Utilitzar una sčrie dexpressions i frases per descriure de manera senzilla la seva família i altra gent, les seves condicions de vida, el seu bagatge educatiu i la seva feina actual o lúltima que va tenir. Escriure notes i missatges curts i senzills relatius a necessitats immediates. Poder escriure cartes personals molt senzilles, per exemple, per agrair alguna cosa a algú.
