- LJMgrAZk Test in Latin Grammar
In order to be admitted to the M. A. State Exam from the Latin Language and Literature, the student must succesfully complete B.A. State Exam from the Latin Language and Literature, must gain the prescribed amount of credits in M.A. Degree programme, must successfully complete the courses compulsory for all students of the Faculty of Arts and must complete the courses concerned with the required readings. He must also submit the M.A. Diploma Thesis or submit the M.A. Final Thesis.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the exam is to examine student's knowledge and skills gained in Master's Degree programme (see course syllabus).
Upon completion of this course, students have demonstrated their ability to compare, contrast and evaluate various scholarly approaches. They have a profound knowledge of the discipline including the ability to implement the various skills relating to the specific field of study. - Syllabus
- Content of the exam for the classical specialization:
- 1. Detailed knowledge of the system of Latin grammar and the development of Latin language. 2. Detailed knowledge of the development of Roman literature and the awareness of its relationship with the Greek literature. 3. General knowledge of the other fields of Roman culture (philosophy, life and institutions, law, cult, private life...). 4. Thorough familiarity with the authors of the prescribed reading (Horace and Tacitus).
- Content of the exam for the medievistic specialization:
- 1. Detailed knowledge of the Latin literature, including its later and Christian stages. 2. General knowledge of the Czech medieval literature written in Latin. 3. General knowledge of the European medieval literature written in Latin. 4. Thorough familiarity with the author of the prescribed reading (Augustine).

- 1. Detailed knowledge of the system of Latin grammar and the development of Latin language. 2. Detailed knowledge of the Latin literature, including its later and Christian stages, and its relationship with the Greek literature. 3. General knowledge of the Czech medieval literature written in Latin. 4. General knowledge of the European medieval literature written in Latin. 5.
