Course objectives
The students will be introduced to modern trends in polish Literary Theory and will be able to apply this knowledge to an analysis and interpretation of literary texts (new and old).
Syllabus
  • 1. The cultural "turn"in literary theory and new possibilities of interpretation of literary texts. 2. The ethical turn in literary theory. 3. Geopoetics - an investigation of literary space. 4. The author and the subject of a literary artwork. 5. The Feminist literary criticism - a Polish point of view. 6. Autobiographism in women literature. 7. "In-between-genre" - a category of Ryszard Nycz. 8. Intertextuality according to Stanislaw Balbus. 9. Anti-theory of literature - poststructuralism as a revolution in literary investigation. 10. "Literary micrology" - the theory of Aleksandr Nawarecki.
