Course objectives
The main objectives of the course lies in acquainting students with the history of the theatre Avant-Guard of the following movements: Living Theatre, Open Theatre, La Mama in the broad artistic, philosophical and political context.
Syllabus
  • 1) Living Theatre, their way of theatre-making, main exponents, Julian Beck and Judith Malina; the most memorable productions and political manifestations;
  • 2) Open Theatre, their way of theatre-making,the most memorable productions; decriptions and experiences;
  • 3)La Mama, peculiar character of their performances
