Selected chapters from the history of the baroque wall painting in Central Europe.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to the study of the baroque wall painting.
  • Iconography and iconology: glorification/apotheosis as the most important iconographic theme of early modern art.
  • The Jesuits order - orders and their influence on the formation of baroque wall painting.
  • Illusionism in baroque wall painting; relationship between wall paintings and architecture.
  • Technology of baroque wall painting.
