- There are no previous requirements. It is recommended for the student to have some knowledge of Catalan. It's also advisable for the student to have already taken the subject Katalánské reálie, as well as Katalánská literatura I and II.

- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the student:
- will be able to identify the most important authors and works of the Catalan literature from the beginning of the 20th century until our days.
- the student will be able to understand the problems related to Catalan literature during the years before and after the spanish dictatorship. The student will be also able to trace the evolution line from the Noucentisme to the present day and compare Catalan literature to the contemporary literature in the neighboring countries. Thanks to this comparison the student will be able to deduce the importance of Catalan literature in the Spanish and European context.
- the student will recognize the important role of some of the major writers in Catalan literature, such as Josep Carner, Josep Pla, Mercè Rodoreda or Baltasar Porcel, among others.
