- Course objectives
- Seminars will be primarily aimed at analyses and interpretations of works of fiction (novels)from 1969 to 1989. Attention will be also paid to the general social-historical context, critical reception and the issue of literary genres. At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand a literary text; interpret works in their historical context; work creatively with secondary literature; clearly formulate scholarly conclusions based on available information; students will be able to think about literature critically. A part of this course is devoted to works from the list of required reading

- Seminars will be aimed at interpretations of principal works of fiction of the "normalisation" period, icluding their position in society, in the general cultural context and in contemporary literary criticism. 1) Conditions of Literature after 1969 2) Analyses of books by Bohumil Hrabal, Ladislav Fuks,Josef Frais, Miroslav Rafaj,Vladimír Páral,Jiří Švejda, Václav Dušek, Radek John, Pavel Verner, Michal Třeštík, Zdeněk Zapletal...
