- Course objectives
- Introduction to the history of the Croatian nation, culture and statehood since the Early Middle Ages to the outbreak of the World War I. Historical and cultural specifics of the development of the Croatian territory and their influence on the forming of the modern Croatian identity. On successful completion of the course students will acquire a complex overview of historical and cultural development of Croatia as well as arguing skill in these matters. Croatian history of the 20th century is taught in the consequential course "History of Yugoslavia and Bulgaria in the 20th Century".

- Historical development of the Croatian Lands in: 1) The Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages; 2) The High Middle Ages; 3) The Early Modern Era; 4) The Early Modern Era II; 5) The Age of Revolutions and Napoleonic Wars; 6) The First Half of the 19th Century; 7) The Revolution of 1848/49 and in the 1850s; 8) The Second Half of the 19th Century; 9) The Second Half of the 19th Century II; 10) The Beginning of the 20th Century.
